Sterling silver wire is hand fashioned with tweezers to create flowers, butterflies, and other filigree forms. These compositions are fired in a kiln at approximately 1700 deg. F to be fused together with silver dust. This creates the body of the piece which then receives enamel color and stones.
The outlined designs are then filled with a very fine ground enamel powder and fired again in the kiln. This turns the enamel into glass with a high gloss finish with permanent beauty.
The last step is to set the stones and to 24k gold plate or antique many of the pieces. Many unusual stones are used including chrysocolla, rhodocrosite, chrysoprase, water sapphires as well as semi-precious stones such as garnets, lapis, amethyst, carnelian, onyx and turquoise.
